Two sets of questions are vital in our Christian lives.
- Question One: Who is God? What is our image of God? Or, as A. W. Tozer famously said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”
- Question Two: Who are we in Christ? Who are we to Christ? What is our identity in Christ?
Today we focus on the second set of questions related to our identity in Christ.
Who I Am In Christ
In my first book, Soul Physicians, I provide two lengthy charts with well over 100 verses each about our identity in and to Christ.
The first chart focuses on who we are in Christ. This has to do with our new nature. We are saints…and much more. Theologically, it relates to our regeneration: we are new creations in Christ.

Who I Am To Christ
The second chart from Soul Physicians focuses on who we are to Christ. This has to do with our new nurture. We are sons and daughters…and much more. Theologically, it relates to our reconciliation: we are now members of God’s forever family.
